Hello,

I would like to be able to copy the data for each instance of a module when copying a page. I've enabled iPortable and the ExportModule function is called successfully when copying the page. That gives the ModuleID of the module being copied. But how can I get the ModuleID of the module being copied to?

Best Regards,

Steve

take a look at DesktopModules\Admin\Tabs\ManageTabs.ascx.cs , the section beginning " if (copyTabId != Null.NullInteger)" shows how it's done, but in short you create a moduleinfo, populate it with what you have, then call ModuleController.Instance.AddModule and retrieve the moduleid from that method

Hi Cathal,

Thank you very much for your reply. Will look at the code you've suggested.

Hi Cathal,

I can see that ModuleController.Instance.AddModule will add a new module. But the module is added during the copy to the page without me doing anything. I don't want to add another one but get the ModuleID for the module that's added anyway.

Hi  Cathal,

Another related question, if using iPortable's ExportModule function, how can I distinguish between an export and a page copy. The function is called for a Page Copy as well as an Export but I can't see anyway to determine which action the user requested.

Best Regards,

Steve
