As I understand Persona Bar is the newest admin interface and supersedes the top-horizontal admin bar.

When I run DNN_Platform_9.0.1.142_Install.zip I get Persona Bar as expected.

When I fork latest github and run from Visual Studio I have the old horizontal interface, even though version is 9.1 (higher than 9.0.1 from release). In addition the admin bar is almost empty and missing fundamentals like SiteConfig.

I'd like to run from source and fix any possible bugs encountered, but I can't. What am I doing wrong?

Steps to run from source:

1) fork&clone develop
2) build Debug
3) build Release
4) Set
DotNetNuke.Website as startup project and run

I haven't been able to build from source either, I get errors with MyGet. I have posted the question in many places for the past week and still have no answer from anyone. I have multiple issues logged that I could fix but not being able to compile the project, I can't publish the pull requests. We need a step by step tutorial from someone...

We're trying to build from source too, it seems there are 4 main projects including the DNN.Platform. The readme in the main source states;

3. Open the following solutions one by one in Visual Studio and compile in RELEASE mode.
-- Platform\DNN_Platform.sln
-- PB.Lib\src\Dnn.PersonaBar.Library.sln [OPTIONAL]
-- PB.Ext\src\Dnn.PersonaBar.Extensions.sln [OPTIONAL]
-- EditBar\src\Dnn.EditBar.sln [OPTIONAL]

However when we open any of the PB items the first issue is it can't find any of the items compiled from the DNN.Platform. We moved some stuff around manually and got that to allow for compilation but then the PB.Lib\NuGetPackages\packages.config breaks the compilation because it's looking specifically for 9.0.1.142 DLLs but the source code we downloaded and ran is the 9.1.0.367... We manually jiggered the values in that file and it moves on to the next stage.

We've been trying to find "correct" build instructions because what's there in the guide is wrong or at least missing useful information.
