I want to use the userID generated from the Registration control to populate a table in a different existing MSSQL database. As I can think of, the only alternative is to create a custom registration module to do this. In previous versions there was a module called /admin/security/signin.ascx. But I couldn't find anything similer to this in DNN 5.2.1.  Where is this module ? Does anyone know  ? Or have a different idea ?

It depends on what you are doing, you have many options avaialble.

  1. You can add a database trigger to catch inserts to the Users table and then do your inserts to the other table.  Not elegant, but as long as the two dbs can communicate it would work.
  2. You could modify the default login process to call out to insert into the respective database, this information is in /desktopmodules/authenticationservices/dnn
  3. You could create a custom membership provider and add a call out to your external system when the user was created.
  4. You could create a custom authentication module to accomplish number 2, without making a core modification.

Is there an example you can point me to that is doing this?
