I think i have a similar problem at the moment and found this thread...

what I am trying to do is sending an email in html-format

But I dont know how to format the body-section ... which is pulled from the settings of my module where the body template is defined via a texteditor control

I am calling the sendmail function as follows:
Mail.SendMail(CType(Settings("MailFromAdress"), String), CType(Settings("InfoMailToAdress"), String), "", CType(Settings("InfoMailSubject"), String), CType(Settings("InfoMail"), String), "", "HTML", "", "", "", "")

but the mails i receive (e.g. in Gmail) always appear to be text-files and have the <p> , <table> etc HTML-tags as plain text included

Can anybody point me the right direction on how to make some kind of email-Template to "wrap around" the mail-Body ?

I am testing on dnn.5.1.0 and 5.4.4 both show the same behaviour

thanks in advance

Is there a way to control sending emails?
My scenario is I need to send the email only if user is opt for. Otherwise default is message inbox. To achieve this how can I do? Could you please help me here.

Vittal: there is no such option, notifications are always sent by email (which makes sense, e.g. for password reminder ;) )

Gerald, up to DNN 5.2.3, all mails were sent in plain text format, if no < p> or < br> was included in the text, otherwise as mime with HTML as primary format and plain text as secondary (maybe without html being stripped). This has been removed in DNN 5.3.0, when introducing new Messaging feature.

Is it possible to add "CC" or send a message to more than one user while using DotNetNuke.Services.Messaging.Data.Message(). I looks to me like it is only possible to send to a single user. Have I overlooked something? Alternaatively, is it possible, as an example, to use both the ToUser and ToRoleID in order to send a message from one user to another and cc the superuser? Thanks.
