Hello Forum Members,

I just found a fix for a problem we were having with Safari and Chrome receiving an error Sys.ScriptLoadFailedException (http://forums.asp.net/t/1252014.aspx).  Since DNN is a little more tricky with actually adding references to it's ScriptManager I added the fix found in the ASP.Net forum post by adding in the following lines of code to the Page_Load function of a control that is using an UpdateProgress control and receives this error in Safari and Chrome (there could be other AJAX controls with this same problem but it was the UpdateProgress control giving us grief):

Dim srWebKitFix As New ScriptReference("~/js/webkitfix.js")
Dim ScriptManager1 As ScriptManager = ScriptManager.GetCurrent(Me.Page)
ScriptManager1.Scripts.Add(srWebKitFix)

the webkitfix.js file contains:
Sys.Browser.WebKit = {}; //Safari 3 is considered WebKit
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('WebKit/') > -1) {
    Sys.Browser.agent = Sys.Browser.WebKit;
    Sys.Browser.version = parseFloat(navigator.userAgent.match(/WebKit\/(\d+(\.\d+)?)/)[1]);
    Sys.Browser.name = 'WebKit';
}

I felt compelled to add this thread to help out any of my fellow module developers as it was a long standing problem for us not to use the AJAX UpdateProgress control in our module.  Hope this helps some of you trying to do the same.

Yogs
