Hello all:

We're about to embark on some module development, using either JQuery or Mootools as the client-side framework.  Is JQuery included now in DNN?  If so, what version of DNN/JQuery?  If not, what is the policy on ensuring JQuery or Mootools is loaded or not by another module purchased from your store?

What are other developers doing about this?  Is there some kind of standard to naming these javascript frameworks?

We don't want to interfere w/any other modules and want to ensure a clean install, so we're asking these questions now, instead of after being bitten in the butt.

Thanks for any answers.

I cannot speak as of DNN policy, but jQuery is deployed with DNN. I currently use 4.9.x for my deployments and have overwrote the default version with jQuery 1.4.3 as I needed to upgrade jQuery for a project I was working on. jQuery is very backward compatible and if a new version breaks older code, there are plugins for compatibility, for example:

http://docs.jquery.com/Release:jQuery...

I cannot speak of mootools, but I can say the backward compatibility isn't that good at all .

Thank you,
