Hi,

In a custom system development the client wanted me to develop two separate modules. However these two modules are almost similar (in UI & nature of data displayed, is basically a module listing a set of records), except that they both differ only on the data queried i.e the criterion of data fetch is slight different.

So i thought of developing a single module and the DNN administrator while configuring module in a page can do some settings change depending on how she/he wanted data in the page.

However i am not sure that my thoughts are correct, is it really possible, should it map to the DNN architecture?

Is there any other alternative you may suggest.I don't really wish to develop a whole module just for the purpose of a change in query. It won't help my client nor me.

Please do give your thoughts.

Thanks,

Balu.

there are no problems having a setting to determine, how your module act and either dispatch at UI level between two separate business layer objects and controller classes or inside business layer to adopt object according to your use case (and either use separate data layer or a parameter to switch.)
