I'm working on one of my first DNN custom modules.  In it I'm trying to get the Group description of the group the user's role is in.  I realize the user can have multiple roles and hence multiple group roles.  But just pulling any group description would be a great start.  Can anyone help?  I'm using VB.Net.

Thanks in Advanced,
Ari

You would probably use an instance of a RoleController to and call GetRole

(this isn't tested code, may need tweaking)

dim rc as new RoleController
dim ri as RoleInfo = rc.GetRoleByName("RoleName")

then ri.Description

Like I said, I didn't have VS open, but something like that should work. Method names might be off a bit.

That code works, but do you know how to pull the description of the group that role is in?

Thanks!
Ari
