I set some variables under not post back condition in the page load event.i use those variables for different checking.in any button click method i should have access to all those variables.what should i use viewstate or static vars considering the performance and other things?

there is nothing to post.actually i sets some settings variable in page load method.then if a button clicked then those variables values must be available to use.so what technique is best to store those variables and use throughout the module lifecycle per user.
