I've done this before but I can't remember what the solution was ...

If  my website url is http://abc.com - how can I retrieve this in VB code?

I'm trying to build a url to an image file in code (i.e. http://abc.com/DesktopModules/XYZ/images/test.jpg)

Thanks in advance, Al

Allan

Here's how I've done it, this was converted to VB.NET from C# so hopefully it works:

Dim pmb As New PortalModuleBase()
Dim modulepath As String = pmb.ModulePath
Dim imagepath As String = modulepath & "\Images\myimage.jpg"

I think PortalModuleBase is from DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase

This should get the current module's path and then you can specify the sub directory and file name.

Good Luck!

Since your module control will inherit from DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase you can use the following relative path in DNN 5.x and 6.x:

Dim imgUrl As String = Me.ControlPath & "images/test.jpg"

Note in particular that the virtual path returned by the ControlPath property already includes a trailing forward slash.

For DNN 4.x, use Me.ModulePath instead of Me.ControlPath. This will also work in DNN 5.x but as it is marked obsolete, you should use the ControlPath property in new code unless you must maintain compatibility with DNN 4.x.
