Hello,

Just bought the Professional DotNetNuke Module Development book and started to get things set up. Followed all steps and had no issues until I tried to create a new project based on the DotNetNuke VB Compiled Module that comes in the starter kit. I get the following error in Visual Studio when attempting to create the project... system.runtime.interopservices.comexception

The DNN site is up and running with no issues.

My environment is... (everything is local on the server)
DNN 5.6.3
IIS V6.0
Windows Server 2003 Standard X64 Service Pack 2
Visual Studio 2008

It sounds like a missing component or other installation problem with either IIS or VS2008 resulting in a failure of VS to communicate with IIS. Perhaps the following article or its many comments will help:

Can you confirm that the VB compiled template will work on a 64bit system?

.net compiles to common language code not to machine level code which then runs under a CLR - if the CLR is running on a 64bit system it will run in that mode - its the CLR is running on a 32bit system then it will run accordingly there too.
