Hello,

I’m running the latest DotNetNuke version 6. I’m developing a few modules and one requirement is to add a few startup items in the Global.asa file. I do not see the “Global.asax.cs” code behind file.

Is DNN 6 using razor is that correct (so no code behind file)?

Can I modify the DNN Global.asa file?

If I can modify the DNN Global.asa file may someone please provide a working C# example.

I have been looking at this for days and cannot seem to find a solution.

Thank you in advance,

Matthew

Below is the sample Global.asa file I tried to create.

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Security;
using System.Web.SessionState;
using System.Web.Routing;
using DevExpress.Xpo;

namespace Sample.Web
{
    public class Global : System.Web.HttpApplication
    {
        void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs on application startup
            XpoStartup();
        }

  static void XpoStartup()
        {
            string conn = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ApplicationServices"].ConnectionString;
            DevExpress.Xpo.Metadata.XPDictionary dict = new DevExpress.Xpo.Metadata.ReflectionDictionary();
            dict.GetDataStoreSchema(typeof(Feeds).Assembly);
            DevExpress.Xpo.DB.IDataStore store =
            DevExpress.Xpo.XpoDefault.GetConnectionProvider(conn, DevExpress.Xpo.DB.AutoCreateOption.SchemaOnly);
DevExpress.Xpo.XpoDefault.DataLayer = new DevExpress.Xpo.ThreadSafeDataLayer(dict, store);
        }

}

}

we actually consume the global.asax events in core code via the DotNetNukeHttpapplication class (as you can see from the inherits in global.asax). As such I'm not sure adding a global.asax.cs will work - and would recommend that you add the code in your own custom httpmodule instead - http://codebetter.com/karlseguin/2006...

We support Razor in DotNetNuke via the razor host module - which requires .net 4.0 to install. However no code outside this module expects or uses razor.
