I am having a problem with creating a settings page for a new module I am creating specifically for DNN 6. When I create the settings page for the module, everything is fine until I try to register and use a DNN control such as urlcontrol.ascx or labelcontrol.ascx. What is odd is that modules that were created using previous versions of DNN and that use these controls seem to work just fine, but not this new one which is compiling with the DNN 6.0 DLL.

If I add the Register statement at the top of the ascx file, all is fine. But as soon as I add a urlcontrol or labelcontrol to the page, I start getting the following error when I try to access the module settings in DNN.
error BC30456: 'Page' is not a member of 'ASP.desktopmodules_company_modulename_settings_ascx'.

Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? I have triple checked my namespaces and DLL versions. All seems in order.

firstly is ".desktopmodules_company_modulename_settings_ascx" really the module namespace of your module ??

I would think that inherits should look a lot more like -   Inherits="DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.Settings"  in your settings.ascx file
