Hi,

I've been thinking about starting a custom class library to be shared among alll modules after realizing in-house developers and contractors are doing the same thing over and over in different modules.

I was wondering if anyone would have some input with this (perhaps did it yourself)

If possible I would like it to integrate with the DNN installation (for instance re-using the DNN database connection), etc

Hi,
If you want to share GUI/Code, your best bet is to make User Controls and just sync them with a utility like winmerge. There might be a better way to do this, but I only do it with 1 user control so it's not bad for me. To share code, I use Visual Studio "Add as Link" and put all our shared source in a common folder. This will just compile into your module and you won't have to worry about conflicts. The problem with a shared dll is if you change any of the functions, you can break older modules.
Thanks
Mike
