Hi folks,

I've been recently trying to put all the web.config configuration options into an external file, say 01.00.00.config (which actually works fine, I've tested it with XML merge function in the Configuration Manager).

There is a wiki article saying manifest can use an external config instead of putting all the things into the manifest directly, but there was no example with regards to the issue. The only resource I've found was dnn support article saying:

<component type="Config">
     <config fileName="1.0.0.config" />
</component>

, but this one fails with errors during installation.

Does anybody have an idea of the exact syntax (or working example) of manifest file referencing external configuration file?

Thanks!
