How do you include dll's with an install? Do you just add it to the manifest .dnn file? I am using a 3rd party dll and would like it added to DNN's bin directory.

Also, how does the install program handle the projectname.dll? Where does it get put? I can see it on my development computer in DNN's bin directory, but when I install it using install.zip to my GoDaddy.com account I can't find the dll. It seems to work ok, but where is the dll?

Hi,

add the dll to your project and add it to the manifestfile.

The additional assembly (dll) will have to be installed into the website's /bin folder. Please see the following Wiki information on the assembly component of the dnn manifest:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

If you are using an automated build and packaging process in either MS Build or NANT, you should be able to copy the additional dll to the extensions package (zip) but may need to modify the build or targets file to specifically include it. Otherwise, you can just manually copy it into the zip folder. In either case, you must include the additional assembly component in the manifest file as explained in the Wiki entry.
