Hi,

I have a module that I developed and it is working great in my localhost. I tried installing it to my live site and am running into this error:

Error: QuestList is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.QuestList.View'. --->

Does anyone know why this might be occurring? The stacktrace is longer but doesnt give much more details, if needed I can post the entire thing.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,
are all files in place and has your module been registered properly?

Sebastian,

On my localhost site, after I got everything working, I clicked the create module and went through the wizard and everything was successful. Then I went to my live site, installed the module, with no errors and added the module to the page. When I first looked at it I got an error that my View.ascx file does not exist. So I looked at the folder through FTP and for some reason the module was installing to DesktopModules/QuestList/QuestList instead of DesktopModules/Questlist, so I manually moved the files into the correct location which is when I got the error I posted in the first post.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by registered properly.

Sebastian,

I think something is definitely going wrong when creating the package, but I am not sure what. I played around with moving the files that were installed an now I am getting a new Error message:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.QuestList.View.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Sebastian,

Another update to this, I enabled debugging, and found that the error in my most recent post was a result of trying to get the ModuleID (and after hardcoding that the UserID)
Which I did with this code:

int mod = ModuleID;
hidModID.Value = mod.ToString();

DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserInfo currentUser = DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo();
int userID = currentUser.UserID;
hidUserID.Value = userID.ToString();

Is there some reason why these would not be recognized by the DNN installation?

Chris
