Hello,
what's the correct way to programmatically instanciate a text editor with DNN 6?

The richtext editor control under /controls/texteditor.ascx is DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.TextEditor, but programmatically adding it gives me errors with some undefined object.

I am now using DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNRichTextEditControl, but this is deprecated since 5.6.2. I also tried using DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls.DnnEditor, but this does not reflect the editor provider which is configured on my DNN host (apparently instanciating Telerik provider even if I have RadEditorProvider active).

Can anybody clarify?
Thank you,

al.

I follow the pattern outlined in this Wiki entry:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

The default editor provider that is selected in web.config or the HTML Editor Manager will be the one that is instantiated.

William,

so do I, and it's perfect: but what if you want to programmatically add the editor at runtime?

One way to do it is like this:

DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.TextEditor editor = (DotNetNuke.UI.UserControls.TextEditor)LoadControl("~/controls/texteditor.ascx");

 editor.ID = "Editor1";

this.Controls.Add(editor);
