Hello,
yesterday I upgraded my localhost installation (professional version) to latest v7 from 6.1.2. I am very surprised because for a lot of dll I got this error.

xxx doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found

It happens for these declarations:

Imports Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data
Imports DotNetNuke
Imports DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities
Imports DotNetNuke.Framework.Providers

In my scenario there are two particularities:

1) After upgrade process, I have not yet inserted license id for professional version (I'm waiting for a reply from customer service for a clarification)
2) I have visual studio 2008 and it seems that the minimum supported version is 2010 (why??)

In your opinion which is the reason that explain my issue? How could I solve it?

What version of .NET Framework is set for Application Pool ?
It should be v4.0, and recomended is v4.5

Thank you for your reply. Website is running on 4.5 framework. I tried to install a trial version of vs 2012 and it works.

It seems tha vs2008 does not support framework 4 at all....
