I am trying to modify which directories a user has access to within the "Managers" (ie: Image Manager & Document Manager) inside the Telerik RADEditor.

If I set it any directory I created myself, it displays fine in the list, but what I want to do is limit the users to their own personal directory. If I set the ViewPaths and UploadPaths to "Portals/[PortalID]/Users/###/##/#/", nothing appears in the RADEditor FileManager. It's completely blank. I get the folder path by using PortalSettings.HomeDirectory & the GetUsersFolder() method from the FolderManager instance.

Why won't the "Users" folder appear in the list?

Any ideas?

By default the various file managers in the editor should follow DNN permissions, so you shouldn't need to do anything special other than get the permissions correct in the Admin/File Manager.

Also, depending on which DNN version you are using there is also custom logic in the RadEditor to show the user's own folder (without the Users/XX/ hierarchy.

I am running DNN v06.02.06

The permission on my file manager to the USERS folder remain untouched from whatever DNN's default, which if I look at the File Manager in DNN is:
All Users -> Open Files In Folder
All Users -> Browse Files In Folder

Even though by default DNN doesn't allow writing to the folder, they should still be able to "see" their own folder. But as I stated before, the folder will not show up. I can display ANY other folder, but not the USERS folder.

AFAIR there had been permission issues with folders in earlier versions of DNN 7.

Sebastian,

Thanks for the info. Somehow that doesn't surprise me... I was trying to avoid upgrading to DNN 7. But it looks like more and more that I am going to be forced to upgrade.
