Hello,

I'm building my own module using Chrisoc's template and I've run into a strange bug. I've recently added settings to my module and it's working fine. The problem surfaces when I add a new module to a page, I'll see a "Object reference not set" error referring to the line of code where I'm looking for the setting in SQL. I have code in my page_load that I thought sets the default, but I suspect the bug occurs before that can run. Is there a better way to set the default, or is my hypothesis incorrect? I should add that if I refresh the page or click the navigation the module will load and work correctly.

View.aspx
------------------------------
type="text/javascript">
try
{
console.log("Entering View.ascx");

var TournamentID = ""<%= Settings["TournamentID"].ToString() %>"; (Error Line)

View.aspx.cs
-------------------------------------
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
try
{
if (!Settings.Contains("TournamentID"))
{
var moduleTournamentID = new ModuleController();
moduleTournamentID.UpdateModuleSetting(ModuleId, "TournamentID", "");

}

Settings.aspx.cs
-------------------------------------
public override void LoadSettings()
{
try
{
if (Page.IsPostBack == false)
{
//Check for existing settings and use those on this page
//Settings["SettingName"]

/* uncomment to load saved settings in the text boxes */
if (Settings.Contains("TournamentID"))
txtTournamentID.Text = Settings["TournamentID"].ToString();

if (Settings.Contains("GradeLevel"))
txtGradeLevel.Text = Settings["GradeLevel"].ToString();

if (Settings.Contains("TeamPool"))
txtTeamPool.Text = Settings["TeamPool"].ToString();
