Is it possible to debug the Service Framework (WebAPI) in DNN? If so, how to do it? And I mean real debugging here, in Visual Studio, no log4net tracing.

Debug | Attach to Process | Check processes from all users | pick the correct w3wp (only a problem if you have more than one) | set breakpoints | make a request

Best wishes,

Thanks. Sorry, I was a bit unclear in my post, I was thinking about if you could run the source version and just get breakpoints working in the normal way (but you method should work also of course)

For that VS has to launch the process.

I guess in principle you can run DNN under IIS Express. I suspect it would take so long to start up that it's probably fairly miserable process.

Best wishes,
