So what is the story behind that SRC (source) packages of DNN 8 seem to be dropped from the main download location? I know that the SRC can be obtained from https://github.com/dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform/tree/release/8.0.0 but still there must be a reason for this change?

Also, is it correct to assume that release versions are more tested than the latest source available via the development branch? That is usually the reason why we hold of from getting the absolute latest version for live sites as we don't know how well tested it is and stick with major releases only. But that of course is based on us believing that those major releases are more tested and verified than the latest version, if the testing is infact the same then things change.

Hi Patrik;
The Release Source package in Github is the same release source package we previously posted in Codeplex.
