I was googling for hours but could not find the answer to quite a simple question: Which Type can be used in the manifest to determine a dependency to .Net 4.5.1 (or higher)? I tried

<dependency type="type">System.Web.Instrumentation.PageExecutionContext</dependency>

but that did not work (installed on .Net 4.0 as well)

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Is this not a feature of bindingRedirect as described here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=vs.110).aspx

Ken,

thanks for the answer, but: No.

What I am looking for is something that is described here, but for .Net 4.5.1:

Although DNN does not expose a way to take a dependency on a particular .NET framework version, this can easily be emulated by taking a type dependency on a class that does not exist in prior framework versions. For example, to require .NET 4 as a precondition to installation, one may depend instead on the System.Tuple class (which was introduced with .NET 4.0):

<dependency type="type">System.Tuple</dependency>
