When the DNN MVC module template which is available from CodePlex is used to create a module, the module's view is trying to access a table which doesn't exist in the database and there's an exception. I created the table manually based on the table definition in the code. There's no code or schema file to create the table and no documentation about creating this table.  It seems like an important omission in the template. Not sure how this template expects the table to exist in the database.
