Hey friends,

What is the UserAuthentication table for? I'm thinking about implementing some OAuth stuff (not an authentication provider, but a separate module that can use it to access an external resource). Could I store the OAuth token in this table? If not, what is best practice regarding OAuth tokens and asp.net?

Daniel,

when I look at the table structure it seems that this is exactly the use case - but I guess that is for Authentication Providers. So if you use it make sure to use the API functions, and don't touch the table directly. (But I don't say now "Use it, it is exactly what you need for that").

When I would implement some stuff like this, I would use something more generic (eg the Module Settings) or create my own table (or XML file or whatever) to store the necessary data.

Happy DNNing!
Michael
