I have created a custom authentication provider for my installs of DNN.  However, I do not like the built-in Forgot Password process as it is not very secure.  We have designed another process and would like to replace the existing one, but it seems that the Register and Forgot Password links are hard-coded into the base authentication provider.  What is the proper way to either disable or replace these links so that I can provide my own implementations.  The markup of the page is also important and I have no control over the location of those links either unless I start editing core (which I do not want to do).

Note that what I am seeing is that I'd have to likely edit or somehow replace Login.ascx in DesktopModules/Admin/Authentication.  This isn't exactly a pretty solution as the markup in that control is outdated and gives no way of overriding its functionality without either modifying this file directly (read: modifying core) or just leaving it alone and hacking the SendPassword control in the database to point to a different control (to effectively replace the current forgot password).  I really do not want to re-do the entire Account Login module, but it looks like that is what is necessary to accomplish full control over it.
