It appears that the effority.UserDirectory module is not compatible with DNN version 5.6.1.

When I tried to upgrade, I had to uninstall the module due to this error:

Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30561: 'Collections' is ambiguous, imported from the namespaces or types 'DotNetNuke, System'.

Source Error:

Line 70: _Settings = New Generic.Dictionary(Of String, String)
Line 71:
Line 72: For Each pair As Collections.DictionaryEntry In modSettings
Line 73:
Line 74: _Settings.Add(Convert.ToString(pair.Key), Convert.ToString(pair.Value))

Anyone know if there are active developers on this module?
It said it was 5.x compatible.
I really like how simple it is, however now I cannot use it.

Also, it needs updating for the user profile visibility settings that weren't in 4.x.

anyone know how much time it would take to address these two issues, or where I could get the source?

you need to write "Import System.collections" instead of "Import Collections", this should fix your issue.
