Hi,

Is it possible to update page permission to a role directly in the SQL table ie using dbo.TabPermissions table? I tried to change them in the table. But when I viewed the page setting of the page  I changed through the portal, the change in permissions is not reflected. Any help here???

Regards,
Anush

Once you have changed data in the DB, the Application Cache still contains old data. So you have to update Cache programmatically or restart App Pool. Both of these operations possible to do in the code only, not in the SQL side.

BTW: We have done a lot of work with permissions in our project Admin Pages- Tabs Manager.

there is another reason, why you should perform object changes in code only: the code API will be maintained to be backwards compatible for a couple of future versions, which is not guaranteed for database structure.
