I have an opportunity to move my DNN CE install to SQL 2008 (from ver. 2005).   This is a highly visible and critical installation.  The DB is approx. 12GB in size.  I am looking for any advice from those that have done this before.   Tips, Tricks, Advice, and a Checklist would be nice.

Haven't ran into any problems doing a SQL migration. Just back up and restore to the 2008.

That's excellent news!   So did your DNN restore to 2008 include 3rd party modules?

if you just replace SQL server (without moving web site itself), you may either backup and restore database in SQL Server management studio or detach database, move database file(s) and attach it in target server. you will need to grant permission to the users on new machine afterwards.
