Hi there,

I am currently developing a site on my local machine (LOCAL) and ready to go on a dev server machine (SERVERDEV)
I have deployed / export current site from IIS LOCAL , and also Backup the DB.
From the Dev Server machine I have deployed /imported the site into IIS from SERVERDEV.

When i try to look at the site through my browser it cant linked to the DB. So somewhere i need to update something so it know that the database come from server: (SERVERDEV\SQL2008R2) instead of (LOCAL)

or is there a better way to deploy sites from Local machine to  Dev environment and then Production LIVE release?

Happy to hear your suggestions..

Thanks

you need to adopt BOTH connection strings in web.config. If AutoAlias detect is set to off in Admin > Web Site Settings or the site includes multiple portals, you need to create Alias for new domain name either prior to moving the database or directly in database table PortalAlias.

Windows server 2003 server (server is broken, the site does not open) on the database after the migration to the local machine after 2005 without additional SQLServer 2008 database?

The Auto option has been disabled as the DotNetNuke Application cannot connect to a valid SQL Server database. You can continue to use either of the other two Wizard options and configure the Database settings at the appropriate Wizard step.
