ERD

Hello, I doubt this will be available BUT thought I'd take a chance :-)

Is there an ERD of the DNNPlatform db anywhere? Considering it is open-source and we're developing modules for it, would it not be a good idea to post that? Or is that a big no-no? taboo question?

Thanks

It's not taboo, but certainly we're not fans of people doing direct database updates so we don't publish one ourselves (I have spent countless hours fixing issues where users added triggers to core tables, had modules that broke referential integrity [e.g added a user record but forgot to add a userportal record, which then caused upgrades to fail etc.] or did updates that would not be possible via the application etc.). I'm not aware of any recent one (net design data used to publish them but their site is down), so google is probably your best bet https://www.google.co.uk/#q=dotnetnuke+erd

if it wasn't clear in my earlier message the recommended way to integrate with core code is via the API.

Cathal, I've never touched DNN source or the native/core db tables. I have only ever added my own tables with the object token prefix. Having an ERD of the  platform db would be a big help in designing my db additions.

I'm fully aware of upgrade issues and implications caused if modifying core code and/or db hence never touch or mod anything there.

So, IF you have an ERD, it would be most useful :-) else I continue as usual.
Email me directly if you don't want to post anything here.

Thanks

i'm afraid I don't, though anytime I need one I just create a database diagram in sql and export it.
