I'm getting the following warning:

Message: A module which does not support partial rendering has been detected (DesktopModules/xxxxxx/View.ascx).

Should this be really considered a warning? I never really put the partialrendering tag in the manifest file so it's not really that it's not supported just that the tag is not there.

BTW, how would you test that a control supports partial rendering? I suppose mines do support it be never did the "definitive" testing to verify it's true. So the question is more around what should we consider to make sure all controls support this feature? Or said otherwise, under what scenarios (usually) a control will not support partial rendering?

Hello Vicenç,

Thanks for the feedback.

EVS evaluates the completeness of an extensions manifest file. If your manifest is missing an optional tag it will give you a warning. I've updated the warning text to read “A module control which does not specify supportsPartialRendering has been detected (control name here)”. It's not checking if your module will work correctly with partial rendering enabled (That's up to the module developer to check that), it's only checking to see if you have specified the tag in the module control.

For an example of a well formed module definition, see this page in the wiki: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

If you have tested your module and it supports partial rendering, then in the manifest, you should have: True.

If you have tested your module and it doesn’t support partial rendering, they in the manifest, you should have: False.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Nathan Rover
