Anyone know if search engines will be able to index the FAQ content if you've got the AJAX mode turned on?

I am also curious to know this. Offhand, I would imagine that a spider would not be able to invoke the AJAX call and get the data but this must be a common concern with modern sites so I don't think it would be a limitation for long.

I did a test on PokerDIY (which ranks very well) - on my poker glossary page, I search for this text (under "A") and it was not found (I have AJAX enabled). By comparions - some normal text on another page is found. Not proof, but a good indicator...

A version of the FAQ module with hidden divs would be good...

Perhaps the right solution to this is to have the module look at the user-agent text to see if it is a search engine and if so, display all answers.

In the short term, since I had to modify the FAQ code anyway for this client, I'm going to add a parameter for show all and then hardcode that into the sitemap.xml since I'm generating that already too.

I am no SEO expert, but isn't that against the recommendations (displaying 2 different sets of content to user and search engine)? Makes sense in theory but would hate to be penalised...
