Regarding the issue in version 4.04.03, I was able to pull the comments for that issue from the archived Gemini issues but don't see a real work-around offered:

Verified in 4.4.3. Reproduction requires one additional setting in addition to those outlined by Mike: the subject value must be a non-integral. In Feedback.ascx.vb cmdSend_Click on or about line 330, when trSubject.Visible = false and trSubject2.Visible = false, the following line is executed: Dim arryFeedbackItem As ArrayList = feedbackController.GetFeedbackList(True, PortalId, Convert.ToInt32(feedback_subject), FeedbackList.Type.Subject, False) The Convert.ToInt32(feedback_subject) call will throw when the feedback_subject is non-integral.

** Update** The above error message is only received if a default subject is selected in settings and the subject list is set to "Subject Field Hidden". If the subject is set to "None Selected" the feedback is submitted correctly.
