Hello, I have an odd problem with the feedback module. When the user submits feedback the email is sent, but they see a message stating there was a problem sending email to one of the recipients and there is a configuration problem with the SMTP server. The mail does sent to admin and a copy to user if checked. Test SMTP under Host setting also works. How do I fix this? If I can't fix it where do I find that error message to change it? Thanks Rich

Can you point me at a site I can test this on. Also what version of the module are you using? Finally, is there any error logged in the site event log?

Thanks
Roger

Another thought, have you configured more than one account for emails to be sent to. I'm not 100% on the module yet, but I thinkl it allows that.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger,

I'm using DNN 5.6.3 and Feedback module 5.0.2

The page can be viewed here: http://www.hitchcockchair.com/Contact/YourStory.aspx

Yes a general exception is thrown:

FileName:
FileLineNumber: 0
FileColumnNumber: 0
Method: System.Net.Mail.RecipientCommand.CheckResponse
StackTrace:
Message: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: SMTP authentication is required. at System.Net.Mail.RecipientCommand.CheckResponse(SmtpStatusCode statusCode, String response) at System.Net.Mail.SmtpTransport.SendMail(MailAddress sender, MailAddressCollection recipients, String deliveryNotify, SmtpFailedRecipientException& exception) at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message) at DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail(String MailFrom, String MailTo, String Cc, String Bcc, String ReplyTo, MailPriority Priority, String Subject, MailFormat BodyFormat, Encoding BodyEncoding, String Body, List`1 Attachments, String SMTPServer, String SMTPAuthentication, String SMTPUsername, String SMTPPassword, Boolean SMTPEnableSSL)

The module is set to send from the same account that is set up under host settings.

Thanks

Rich
