I've just added a new work item in CodePlex:

"My users feedback was truncated to 1000 characters - without any warning. The user interface should display "Characters Remaining" like other text input dialogs that have a limit.

I also would like to see the limit raised from 1000 to some configurable maximum - whether more or less."

Hopefully this makes sense and is reasonable. (If so, please vote for it!) The main point is to avoid surprises for the user.

John,

if you need a module that allows you to set up a text area without character limit have a look at helferlein_Form. Anyway: The idea of having a (configurable) limit is not bad - let's see if I can include that feature in an upcoming version of the module.

Hi John,

Raising the 1k limit should be easy enough, should get that done in the next release including adding a configurable limit. Should be by Christmas. I'll look into how to show the number of characters remaining.
