I have a page that has a Links module in the Left Pane and an IFrame module in the ContentPane. When the user clicks on the link in the Links Module, I'd like to change the URL for the IFrame module. As an alternative, I can leave the URL static and just substitute QueryString parameters. Is this possilbe? If so, how?

At this point there is no way to dynamically change the settings of IFrame module (URL, dimensions, etc. are all Settings of the module). However, if the page inside IFrame can handle QueryString parameters and redirect itself to the appropriate url or display content based on the values in QueryString - then you can definitely use Link/Iframe tandem as you intended - just set up pass-through parameters inside IFrame Settings.

Thank you for the fast and helpful answer. Please excuse me if this is a "newbie" question, but I don't understand how to indicate in the Link Module that the target is my IFrame and not a new page. Did I miss a setting somewhere? I assume that if my URL follows the QueryString pattern that it will pass it though. For example:

In my Link module, the Location setting is http://localhost/Test/MyNewPage.aspx?Tag=Reference.

In my IFrame module, the Location setting is http://localhost/Test/MyNewPage.aspx and the QueryString is

Tag Pass-Through QueryString (Tag)

I'd appreciate any direction as to where I am going wrong.

Thank you

If links in your Link module will point to the same page, the page will reload and IFrame will pick up the passthrough params. That's a quick and dirty way to do it.

It is a bummer that i can't redirect to the IFrame using a target attribute in an anchor tag. I have noticed that if i set up an iframe in a html module, and have an anchor tag target that html iFrame, that i cannot redirect to there, either.  Is there some functionality in the DNN framework which prevents this target method of the a tag from occuring ?
