Hi,

I am creating a real estate web site.

On the Home page their will be links to various communities (ie) by city or subdivision.

As I do not want to create a new page for each of these and don't want to use an iframe on the home page I want to pass the src ( url) to the iframe of another page on my site called searchresults.aspx

so if i have a A href on home page to searchresults.aspx but with parameters telling to force the src of the iframe to a specific URL.

I have been trying to figure this out but not getting anywhere on my own, i do know there are some security issues i read about this, but if this is within the asp.net of the same site can this be done and how to make it happen.

I'll keep searching for an answer but if you all have any ideas please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Dan

one idea I just thought of:

use a javascript function on the receiving page that will parse the window.href l then dynamically build the src url for the iframe.

As the first part of the src URL will always be the same: http://findhouse.com/search/ ( fictious site)

then appending it with Cities=Atlanta,Roswell; PostalCodes=30071,30354;ListMinPrice=200000;

I can pull those values out of the href

Sound feasable or is there some other way??

Dan

 Seems that your case is, in fact, a classic usecase.

What you need to do is pass some parameter in the url of the page where IFrame module is going to be, i.e. searchresult.aspx?area=A

In the IFrame Options add a Pass-Thru parameter of type QueryString and it will be passed to your iframe's page.
