Hi all,

I have created a module that basically is affiliated with a table that has the following fields amongst others:

Title
URL
StartDate
EndDate

so basically when you click on the title as it is listed on the module, you are redirected to another page on my dnn site that has an iframe module.  The setting on the iframe module on that page are set to pick up the paramater "url" which is passed by the custom module.

Everything was working perfectly until I decided that I wanted to give the administrator the ability to either choose a remote url link OR a local file on their dnn server to link to.  That way they can link to documents that are stored on the site server.

What I did is removed the <asp:textbox /> control and repaced it with the <dnn:url /> control.  This worked very smoothly for entering URLs:

http://chatweekly.webheadgroup.com/IframeFeaturedArticles/tabid/64/Default.aspx?url=http://www.google.com

but when I specified a local file I got this url:

http://chatweekly.webheadgroup.com/IframeFeaturedArticles/tabid/64/Default.aspx?url=FileID=1

the iframe likes the first url, but obviously, it hates the second.  Is there a way to make the iframe pick up a fileid and display it dynamically and, at the same time, still display an external website if the parameter passed happens to be a url?

I have DNN 4.0.2 and there are no settings for the IFrame to consume a ?url param passed into it like you did.

How did you get the Iframe to consume the ?URL parameter - Did you modify the module, and what version of DNN are you using.  I only installed DNN yesterday and very new to the technology.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

the iframe i have (dnn version 4.3.4) already has that as an option out of the box.  Do the upgrade and replace your old 4.0.3 files or just upload the latest iframe module in the downloads section.
