I have DNN 4.5.1 and everytime the application restarts or I install a new module, the following appears in my Event View Log:

EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed
ProcessorType: DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke
Body:
Sender:
BusinessControllerClass: DotNetNuke.Modules.Media.MediaController, DotNetNuke.Modules.Media
DesktopModuleId: 61
UpgradeVersionsList: 03.02.00,03.02.03
ExceptionMessage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Server Name: ANAXAVPS78

I wish I had an answer but I have exactly the same problem.  I even removed and then reinstalled the module, and the only thing that changed was the DesktopModuleId went from 54 to 61.

I tried removing all instances of the Media Module that I could and I then removed the Media Module and I got the following error:

EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed
ProcessorType: DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke
Body:
Sender:
BusinessControllerClass: DotNetNuke.Modules.Media.MediaController, DotNetNuke.Modules.Media
DesktopModuleId: 54
UpgradeVersionsList: 03.02.00,03.02.03
ExceptionMessage: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type
Server Name: LEADWEB2

I reinstalled the Media Module and now I get two errors:

EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed
ProcessorType: DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke
Body:
Sender:
BusinessControllerClass: DotNetNuke.Modules.Media.MediaController, DotNetNuke.Modules.Media
DesktopModuleId: 54
UpgradeVersionsList: 03.02.00,03.02.03
ExceptionMessage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Server Name: LEADWEB2

EventQueue.ProcessMessage: Message Processing Failed
ProcessorType: DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke
Body:
Sender:
BusinessControllerClass: DotNetNuke.Modules.Media.MediaController, DotNetNuke.Modules.Media
DesktopModuleId: 61
UpgradeVersionsList: 03.02.00,03.02.03
ExceptionMessage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Server Name: DNNWEB2

I am running this installation in a webfarm, are you?  I don't know if that makes any difference.

Leadtools,

You are getting the two errors most likely due to the webfarm that you are running in.

In regards to the error, it appers to be an error with the support of IUpgradable within the Media Module, hopefully someone from that team can respond.  You could try modifying the module definition to remove support for IUpgradable, but that might not fix it.

I too have experienced this problem.. still have not solved it.

We have no problem when we run the install on our servers. I am setting up a site on someone elses server. Their install fails this way.

I will try to determin what they have running that is different.

e table in the dnn database and I found two entries that correspond to this error (They are difficult to read because they are not in a tabular format here:

4    Application_Start    0    DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke    UpgradeModule            xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx          4/20/2007 11:24:49 AM    4/20/2006 11:24:49 AM
<Attributes>
  <Attribute>
    <Name>BusinessControllerClass</Name>
    <Value>DotNetNuke.Modules.Media.MediaController, DotNetNuke.Modules.Media</Value>
  </Attribute>
  <Attribute>
    <Name>DesktopModuleId</Name>
    <Value>54</Value>
  </Attribute>
  <Attribute>
    <Name>UpgradeVersionsList</Name>
    <Value>03.02.00,03.02.03</Value>
  </Attribute>
</Attributes>
False

15    Application_Start    0    DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.EventMessageProcessor, DotNetNuke    UpgradeModule            xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx            5/15/2007 9:20:12 AM    5/15/2006 9:20:12 AM

  <Attribute>
    <Name>UpgradeVersionsList</Name>
    <Value>03.02.00,03.02.03</Value>
  </Attribute>
</Attributes>
False

 The last field (labled iscomplete) on both of these entries is "False", where the other rows have a value of "True".  I think this is the source of the problem and I was wondering if anyone could tell me with a reasonable level of certainty that deleting these entries would be relatively inconsequential?
