Hi Folks,

I am using .swf's for my video files.  So, I convert my .mov and end up with a .flv and a .swf.

If in the module I "Link" to an external url, it works fine, but if I upload the two files to my videos directory it will not display.  Any thoughts?  I have tried importing my original .mov at different compression rates to see if that was it but no luck.

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Is the location of the files you are uploading to a secure folder?  This would prevent the files from showing if you do not have proper permissions.

It depends on what module you use.  We just use the text module and change the paragraph tags to div tags.  Also your flash embed tag needs to be constructed perfectly.  It's very finicky if you don't put the right parameters in.

Try this (of course, change the file path and name):

<div align="center">

<embed style="width: 350px; height: 117px" src="/Portals/9/earth.swf" width="451" height="117" scale="noborder" play="true" loop="false" menu="false" wmode="Window" quality="1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>

</div>

Hello,

I get the same problem. The embed tag may work for pure swf files, but I cannot get the .flv to play. I extracted the code from a local html file which works fine (with object tag, swf player and flv file), adapted the paths, but nothing gets displayed. Do you have a working example, by any chance?

Thanks,

Franco
