Hi Rudy,

It appears that your connection strings are commented out. ADD the GREEN items and DELETE the RED items:

<connectionStrings>
    <remove name="LocalSqlServer" />
    <add connectionString="Data Source=<server>;Initial Catalog=<DBNAME>;User ID=<USerID>;Password=<PASS>" name="SiteSqlServer" />
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 -->
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=<server>;Database=<DBNAME>;uid=<USerID>;pwd=<PASS>;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
   -->
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=<server>;Database=<DBNAME>;uid=<USerID>;pwd=<PASS>;"/>

-->

Barrett,

Thank you for the suggestion. I did not see this but after changing this I got an familiar error. I did not realize there were 2 connections strings in the above.

I changed the Strings manually when I installed the dnn5. Then in the IIS webserver (W2008) console I changed the connection strings through the interface.

This added the extra line. After deleting the extra <add line everything worked.

Thank you for the solution,Ruud
