That was one of the first things I tried. I doesn't help in my case. Not sure why.

I also discovered that the error doesn't occur on every image, just most of them. I found by searching that there are a couple of other sites with the same problem. This one: http://www.unyanz.co.nz/UNYANZ/NationalCouncil/tabid/231/Default.aspx has some images down the side of the page in error and some not. On my customer's site one out of about 30 images doesn't error out.

If this is going to take that long to be fixed I'll find another alternative. I have a backup from last night that I can restore from to undo the update. Then I'll stop upgrading my customers' web sites and start looking for a more reliable option with faster support. This kind of problem is simply unacceptable.

I see. Here are your choices:

1. Download Media Module source code and try fixing the problem (or hire someone who can do that for you)

2. Buy one of the Image modules at DNN MarketPlace or on snowcovered.com

3. Use Text/HTML module to display your images

PLEASE NOTE - my opinion is MY opinion, not DotNetNuke Core Team's. So, when I said "a few months" I was speaking MY mind, not Media Project's Leader...

And finally, couple of points about Open Source projects: These are created by enthusiasts - free for all - that's the Upside. Downside: if an enthusiast runs out of enthusiasm or has to make money, the open source project comes to a hault.

DNN project is the most professionally run open source project out there. However, it is not reasonable to expect the same level of support you get when you pay several thousand dollars for the site. And DNN would cost you more than 10K easily - especially with all the content management abilities. So, examine your options and choose the best one for you.

The issue seems to be with the media file extension and not the media itself.  By changing the extension to lower case the media should render.

A fix and some enhancement updates have been applied to the module and have now been submited to the project review process.

this is exactly what I am seeing checking it out on various images with extensions capitalized results in the Invalid Media message. This needs to be addressed kinda of a pain in the ass to go through each image you might have to convert it to lower case

1. Seems that Leigh already addressed the issue - see above

2. UPDATE Products SET ProductName = UPPER(ProductName) - use T-Sql on your DB to update everything in one shot... Don't worry about the extension itself - just convert the entire file name to lower case...
