I'm trying to get the Media module to display my MPG file. Keep getting an "Invalid Media" message, however.

What are the hoops I need to jump through to get this to work? Is MPEG-1 not supported by the module? What are my alternatives?

Thanks.

I don't know why it's not working in the media module.  But another option is to use the repository module.  Select the niftyVideo skin for it and you should have no problem with it.  Let me know if you still need help.

Right...

I have the same problem with a link that works perfectly in the Image Module in DNN3 but gives me Invalid Media in the Media Module DNN 4.3.4.

Project leaders.... try this test:

In DDN3.x:
http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?&w=450&y=r&h=300&r=1y&u=skin3.com

In DNN 4.3.5:
http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?&w=450&y=r&h=300&r=1y&u=skin3.com

Works fine in one and not in the other...  fix coming up?

Same problem here. Just updated a customer's site to DNN 03.03.05 and suddenly all their media modules are showing the "invalid media" message. Checked to make sure I have the latest version of the media module and I do (03.02.02). This needs to be fixed asap. My customer's site is down until I get a fix!

Note: in most cases the media in question are simply .jpg files.

If you are pointing to a file, not url, then you can do the following... And I realize that my advice is going to make you feel like 'Right! Great! I have nothing else to do!', and I am sorry... but while you wait a month or two for the fix, you may as well just go and reapply image files in Media modules. I mean, all you have to do is go to each and every one of the Media modules, select the file and hit Update button.

Not sure why this happens, but I didn't have too many of these to worry too much about the fix.
