I was hoping I could put this one up to the group and see if anyone had any advice...

I created a 3MB .swf file for my wife's homepage:  http://kristentrudeauphotography.com .  I put it in using the media module, linking it to a file directly on the server.

The flash file shows itself fine, but it has to load the full 3MB before the slides start playing.  It obviously isn't streaming and I'm thinking I'm missing something here...   Should I be using a URL link with a UDP protocol instead of the direct file reference?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Flash files don't stream - they start playing only after download. The good news is - the movie doesn't have to wait until it's ENTIRE content gets downloaded, you can create it in such a way that it'll start playing as it comes. I think you'd need to break it up into separate smaller movie clips that get played as they are loaded... Look it up on Flash support sites.

In either case, Flash player will have to wait until the entire current movie clip is downloaded. When you see one of those countdowns, that's a different clip playing waiting for the main one (or next one) to download.
