Hi,

I am am having trouble running Simpleviewer in a media module. Is it possible to do this? I've created a directory in the portal called /images/portfolio/simple.swf. All of the images and folders are also in that directory but the module just displays a blank white screen. If I click the simple.swf file from that directory iexplorer open it perfect but DNN doesnt. I'm using the media module in 4.3.5. Thanks!

I wasn't able to get swf file to play properly in this module. Try Inventua Flash player - inventua.com They let you try it before you buy it - sorry for the rhyme.

It works perfectly.

I have no problem getting flash files to play in the media module. I was trying to get the "simpleviewer" a free flash picture gallery to play. It stores it picture in an images folder and has an .xml controlling the position of the images. I create a floder in the /portals/directory/ and reference the .swf file in the module but cant get it to work. I guess I could just create a flash file with the pictures imbedded but I wanted to be able to update and change the picture when I wanted too. It works perfect in explorer but not in DNN media module. I also have a flash picture rotatator that has the same problem. If anyone has figure this out I would appreciate some help. Thanks!

My bad, as they say... :)

I remember now that my issue with it was also with a .swf that was using a parameter - like this: player.swf?param=show.xml

It just didn't want to load that file correctly. I'll play with that player :) and let you know if I get anywhere.

OK. I just tested the files - in Media module it failed to load xml file, in inventua Flash player it worked beautifully without any issues.

BTW, I don't have anything to do with inventua - I just hate wasting time on fixing problems if I can get around it. And with inventua module I can - it costs less than my hourly rate.
