I searched and cannot find the answer anywhere else. I am running DNN 4.5

I was wondering if there is a way to automatically have the links order by descending as opposed to the defaulted. I have a list of links by date format of 'mm/dd/yy' and would like the most recent to show at the top.

I know there is the view order feature but this would require me to manually count and edit each link everytime I wanted to add a new one. Is there a way either via database or GUI to edit it to be automatically descending for this particular module?

I greatly appreciate any feedback anyone can supply me. Thank you.

The list order is the only to do this currently.

could you please explain what you mean by list order?

I found an SQL procedure that might be responsible for the way things are sorted by default but I tried changing it and nothing happened. Does anyone have an idea why? The procedure is found under the following files:

Desktop Modules/Links/Providers/DataProviders/SqlDataProvider/03.01.00.SqlDataProvider

Desktop Modules/Links/Providers/DataProviders/SqlDataProvider/03.03.00.SqlDataProvider

It is called GetLinks, I tried replacing the "order by" clause with this but nothing happened.

order by {objectQualifier}Links.ItemId DESC

I hope its a stupid mistake, does anyone know where to take it from here???

When you are adding the link, there is a field for ViewOrder, you can set this value to display them in any order you wish. The downside to this is that it must be done for every link and this can get tideous when you have a lot of links. The OP was looking for a way to do this automatically and as of now their is no way to do that.
