Hi guys,

Dunno if anyone has come across this issue before (or maybe its inexperience on my part) but when a regular user selects a link to display or download a file from my site they get it in a zip file. This is not the format of my uploaded file. The link is pointing to a .xlsx file and the user i using Vista (dunno if these details play a part in any way). Has anyone got a solution

Thanks...

Hi Stan,

this is not a common situation and sounds like a misconfiguration, maybe there is server-side compression turned on on your IIS.

Sorry this is a reply to an old post, but this exact problem is happening to me.  A stored .xlsx link is being displayed in the open/save/cancel dialog as a .zip file when it is clicked.  I checked and it is not being stored by the file system as a .zip file.  I can go into the File Manager on the portal and find the file, which is stored as [filename].xlsx.  If I click on the file from File Manager, the open/save/cancel dialog displays the file name correctly with a .xlsx extension.  Any other ideas on why this might be happening?  Is there something in the Links module code that interprets the MIME type from the ContentType column in the Files table?  If so, could it simply be missing xlsx and default to zip?  Thanks for any help.
