We would like to add links to various pages on our portal.  The links would all point to other pages within the same portal.

When a page is deleted from the portal, is it possible to have all the links modules update themselves to remove any links to the deleted page?

Can this be done automatically via another mechanism or is there a module out there that already does this?

you might be able to use a trigger in the database, though it is not the recommended way. and it will only be possible for dedicated modules like links, not for any links contained within richtext content.

Thank you Sebastian for this idea.  Of course, it makes perfect sense now.

I don't know the t-sql syntax of the top of my head and I will look it up, but the "pseudo-code" looks like this:

on page delete in portal
if page is below manufacturer or product page
then delete all links records that point to page being deleted

Obviously, I will need to find the correct tables from the DNN and Links Module schema.

You say this is not the recommended way; but it may be the fastest to develop.  Is there a recommended way?

Best Regards,
Guy
